About us

Established in 2008, Craft and Community Development Foundation (CCDF) is a registered not for profit organisation, set up as a social entity to support and fund projects that would enhance livelihood for communities focused on the art and crafts sector. CCDF’s vision is to undertake projects for upskilling artisans by introducing new concepts and designs. Keeping intact the authenticity of the art and craft and connecting them to new markets is key to the mandate of the foundation.

At CCDF, we strive to create an empowering space which has been supporting specialised crafts through imparting training, bringing new design element and creating market linkages for craftspersons. We work to support artisans and communities by providing similar training and workshops to enhance their design skills with the aim of enhancing the quality of life.

About our founder​

Sundeep Bhandari, founder trustee of Craft and Community Development Foundation is an oil industry veteran. He has established successful oil and gas exploration and production projects in the country and served on boards of public companies. He has undertaken several philanthropic projects and was heading the CSR board of Cairn India Ltd. In this role, he was instrumental in establishing community support and development projects across the country including the Centre of Excellence for vocational training in Jodhpur and The Enterprise Centre at Barmer ITI.

He established Craft and Community Development Foundation in 2008 with the aim of up-skilling artisans in different fields across India.
